How does MacFSRef work?

Hi all,

Trying to replace MacDirId by MacFSRef, I found that using:

Dim f As FolderItem
Dim MB As MemoryBlock

If f<>Nil Then
TextArea1.TextðNativePath+" - MacDirID :
"+Str(f.MacDirID)+Chr(9)+"MacFSRef : "+Str(MB.Int32Value(12))
End If

I got ever the same value for MacDirId and MacFSRef.
But I noticed, in addition, that all files in the same folders have the
MacDirId and the same MacFSRef.

Looking at the MB content, I noticed that there was values into the
first 12 bytes. What do they stand for?

Is my use of MacFSRef correct? I thought that MacFSRef was a unique
reference to a file (or folder)?

TIA for any help.
